Looking for some fun first-day physical education activities? These rules relay posters are perfect for the first day of school as an introduction of your rules and procedures to your elementary students. Get your students up and moving on Day 1!

These puzzles can be used in grades 1st-5th grade. There are 10 different rules provided in two different formats – one with sentences and one with single words only.

An EDITABLE version is also included. Each of the 10 picture cues are provided with the puzzle cut outs for you to add your own text to the picture.

How to use this active resource?

1. Student teams will line up behind cones. At the other end of the gym are the puzzle pieces.
2. One student at a time will run down and collect the puzzle pieces until all the pieces have been collected.
3. When all the puzzle pieces are back to the group, they sit down and put the puzzle together.
4. When everyone has finished assembling their puzzle, I go over the rule and explain it in more detail, if needed.

It’s a great way to get students excited and active in PE on Day 1!
