I like how it breaks the writing process down into steps. That really helped even my most struggling writers. We had a presentation at the end to guess each other’s pumpkins and the students were so engaged. Now they are hanging in the hallway for others to enjoy as well.

The kids were excited to design their own pumpkin. They did not put their names on anything and then got a different student’s descriptive writing and had to go out into the hallway and match the writing to the pumpkin. This was the cutest thing ever! I will do this every year.
