When would I use these Thanksgiving activities?

I created these November STEM activities to use for Fun Fridays in my classroom! The students can’t wait to get to the STEM time and see what the next challenge will be. You can also use these Thanksgiving STEM challenges during your usual Science time.

How are these Thanksgiving STEM challenges different from others?

1. Materials were chosen based on availability and cost. We spend too much on our classrooms as it is. These materials should already be in your room or very cheap and easy to get. I like to give a variety of materials to my students so they can design the challenges differently.
2. All challenges have included a MATH component for the engagement with a competition aspect. Many STEM activities leave out the “M”. I like this added challenge because I want the students to reflect on their design and how they could make it better.
